They just can’t get my nose right!

This round of radiation is rough. Luckily so far today I’ve been ok (ok meaning I haven’t gotten sick today), but the past couple of days, even within hours of my first radiation treatment, I was getting sick. So we added ANOTHER anti nausea medicine. Up to 5 now (and that’s JUST for nausea)! The new med seems to help a lot more so I’m thankful for that! I only have 2 radiation treatments left AND I don’t have radiation over the weekend so that’s also something to be thankful for.
My surgery is scheduled for a Monday morning after my radiation appointment. Yes. Radiation and surgery within a few hours of each other. Ugh. Hopefully the recovery is short and painless. The pain through all of this has been hard. It’s all nerve pain so finding a position to be comfortable is not easy. I hate to sound like I’m complaining but this is real and I need to get it out. Really though, I’m over the pain. My radiation mask this time around covers my shoulders and part of my neck. It’s so tight, definitely worse than the mask I had in Oklahoma. Although it’s pretty funny, at least the nose. I look like a witch!

This is very random but I’ve had several people share stories and ask for my surgeons info and if he does pediatrics. Well, I recently was contacted by someone on here and I lost their email. So, if anyone wants my surgeons info, please feel free to message me. The biggest question I get is if he can do pediatrics and although he doesn’t, the man he studied with in Australia does. SO, I don’t want to just plaster all their info on the internet but seriously, message me if you want their info.

  1. Wow that “mask” for radiation. I don’t know how you do it except the power of God and the thoughts of your family as you go through this. That is what will get you through. We pray for you and Michael and Sarah daily. You keep it up girl….you got this

  4. Thanking God they found a medication to help ease the nausea. Continued prayers for less pain and for this cancer to be eradicated from your body. Asking God to guide the surgeons hands as you go through surgury on Monday and give you His peace. May He also allow for a quick recovery from this surgery. God’s peace be with you and your family.

  9. Stephanie- I am one that messenged you a few weeks ago. I am from Missouri and was diagnosed with a grade 3 astrocytoma brain tumor that is located near my brain stem in the left cerebellum area a little over a year ago. I was told there was no possible way to do any surgery. I’ve done radiation and chemotherapy and now I go for an MRI every 3 months to monitor the tumor to make sure it doesn’t grow. I was inspired by your story because everything you went thru reminded me of mine. It was actually a little erie how similar our stories were. Since then, I was determined to contact that dr from OU and have him look at my case. I would love to be in contact with you though. But I dont want to bother you, I know when i was going thru my treatments, I didnt feel like talking to many people. But when you feel like it please email me.
