“These are the good old days”

August 18, 2016, Stephanie posted the following status:

“That moment when you realize that these are the good old days and moments everyone talks about. I really wish time would slow down ❤️”

This was six months before we knew something was wrong and before we knew our time was limited. Turns out those are the “good old days” I think of so often now: when we were together and before the cancer became a part of it all. So while we can’t go back to those days, remember that some day you’ll think of today as that good old day. So don’t forget to put down your phone, turn off the tv, and enjoy quality time with the ones you love.

  1. So very true! Our family went through a health crisis this past year. Family was my motivation to fight my illness. Take care Michael and Sarah!

  3. Thank you so much for this very, very important thought for all of us! I lost my husband to glioblastoma multiform on March 18, 2014, and I remember those good old days as well. Life does go on, but it’s different, and I still miss those times from now over 5 years ago. Thank you…these ARE the good old days.

  4. Absolutely, Michael. One of my favorite quotes from Field of Dreams speaks to this.

“You know we just don’t recognize the most significant moments of our lives while they’re happening. Back then I thought, well, there’ll be other days. I didn’t realize that that was the only day.“

Peace and blessings to you both!

  5. I have only just found this blog after seeing the ABC News article. I have read the journey from start to finish and cried many times.

Could someone clarify if this the last blog post?
